Tyson surprised me with this little dance the other day. He just learned how to wave and clap, but the sexy pose caught me off-guard.
Just another 30 something mom, maneuvering through life with two studs for sons. Trying to laugh through the hard times, savor the good times, and blog about it all.

The Epley Family Reunion
On Sunday we attended the Epley Family Reunion. My grandpa is the youngest of 18 children and he's the only one still alive. We threw a surprise 80th birthday party for him. As you can imagine, there were quite a few people there. We had a great afternoon catching up with family and hearing some great stories.

That Photoshop Training Was Good For One Thing!
I recently went to a Photoshop training for work. I tried out a little technique that I learned. It's kind of cool, I thought. It's supposed to look like a sketch. Yes, that is chocolate milk around Trevor's mouth.

Comments, comments, comments
Hmmm...people say they look at my blog. People even mention things I've written on my blog, yet no comments...Interesting, isn't it?!

No, no, no, no - Not dada, mama!!
Well, it's happened. Cody, Trevor and I have been anticipating Tyson's first word for a while now. He's a rambler, but nothing was making sense, until this weekend. He had been saying "dadadadadada" a lot, but it didn't seem like he knew what he was saying. Then a few days later, Cody walked in the door. I was holding Tyson and a huge smile overcame his face, followed by "dada". Not "dadadadadadada", but "dada". He practically lept out of my arms. I'm not gonna lie, it hurt a little. I was only this kids food source for the first 6 months of his life, but Trevor said "mama" first, so it's only fair. I was happy for Cody.
I did try to brainwash Tyson though. He knows what "no" is because he hears it all the time. I actually thought he might say "no" first:) So, everytime he would say "dada" I would say "no...mama". Cody overheard this conversation and scolded me for brainwashing him:)
Wow! Time has flown:)

"Hey! You Guys Should Get a Boat"
Cody's parents bought a boat! The conversation began with a simple question to Cody's dad, David, "when are you guys getting a boat?" Their reply, "never". After a short conversation about how great a boat would be and how all the kids would use it...they now have a boat! A picture of a similar model is below. Their boat is canary yellow (it matches Cody's moms' Harley). Ooooh...it's gonna be a fun couple of months!

Good Riddens!
I can honestly tell you that I could care less if it's summer or not. Summer doesn't matter when you have a job like mine. Our entire lives, until we get a job, we're trained to believe that we're supposed to have summers off. I know that the purpose of having a summer vacation for students was so they could help their parents farm. I still know kids that do help their parents on the farm during summer, but the idea of having a summer vacation really ruined summers for me after I got a job and the realization hit in that I don't get a summer vacation.
I also don't have a window in my office, so I have no idea what the weather is like anyway. I would rather be in the air conditioning, but I would also like a tan, without skin cancer. I like the idea of year round school. They avoid the "summer brain" and we don't convince them that summers are a breeze. Unfortunately, my children won't have the option of a year round calendar since they'll be going to a rural school, so I'll get the joy of paying for daycare!! It never ends:)
Funny story, the other day Trevor was trying to wear his brother's sweatshirt. Well, there's only 3 1/2 years between them, but Trevor was convinced it would fit. He got one arm in the sleeve and he said "look mom! It fits!" We're driving, so I cautiously turn around to look and I reply "yep, it does a little bit" He replies, "no, it does a lot a bit". Pretty cute:)
He also asked me when kids stop living with his parents. This intrigued me so I told him that some people live with their parents forever. He replied "well, than Ashlyn is going to have to live with us because we're going to have babies. Jake and Kelly" No idea where Jake and Kelly came from.

She's pretty cute:)
